Fault for expecting that this game was Scrabble or a reasonable facsimile. I am an avid Scrabble player and take pride in my vocabulary. Imagine my shock when all of a sudden words that ARE NOT WORDS began to show up as accepted by this game. And imagine my even BIGGER shock when I looked up these so called words in the game’s definition section and find that AT THIS TIME WE HAVE NO DEFINITION FOR THIS WORD BUT WE ARE WORKING ON IT.....huh? And the skip your turn option with no penalty? And the option to see where you can make the best play? Why bother playing at all? I have told my friends who play with me that if they are using those options, cross me off their list. I do not use them ever. And as for some doozy “words” my friends come up with....they tell me they throw everything at the wall to see what sticks. Oh, fun. So why do I play? Oh I don’t know.....bored I guess. If anyone else feels like I do, there’s real Scrabble at a site called Word Biz that is an Internet Scrabble Club and is true Scrabble. I play it on my computer and it’s awesome. One more thing....I find all the non-game interruptions annoying. I know I can delete the app anytime I want but I do enjoy the actual strategy of playing a straight-forward game with no “help” options. One more observation.....how can a word be a word if it has no definition? Words With Friends 2 After the last iOS update two weeks ago, the app will not work on my iPad or iPhone. My games will not refresh at all on any platform. The daily challenge is the only one that works. There is no phone tech support. The in app tech support is terrible. They give me the same options that are already posted everywhere, as though I would need to contact them if my issues were that simple. Once I’m contacting you, my issues are beyond those solutions. By then almost a 23 Dec 2011 3 min read Review In a way, reviewing Words With Friends, the now-ubiquitous Scrabble-esque smartphone app, seems pointless—you already know what it is, and if you don’t you should by now, and a review isn’t going to change how you feel about it (or don’t). I guess what I’m really trying to say is Words With Friends is Scrabble, and Scrabble is Words With Friends. Except it’s not.My ex-girlfriend and I played a lot of Words With Friends when we were dating. She beat my ass every single time. But here’s the thing. If we’d ever played a game of Scrabble, I’m sure I would have at least not lost by several hundred points. Because Words With Friends rewards having the tenacity of a cockroach, and it does not reward having a large vocabulary. I am not saying my ex is a cockroach. She is very nice. What makes Words With Friends expressly different from Scrabble is that the former allows you to throw up as many combinations of letters as you can think up, whereas in Scrabble you can challenge your opponents and let Noah Webster tell you whether or not “kex” and “coled” and “rand” are words; and if they’re not, you get penalized. And the Words internal dictionary is the most infuriatingly accepting dictionary in the entire universe. The basic rule of Scrabble is that if you’re trying to play a word that seems fishy, you probably shouldn’t actually be playing that word, because your opponent might challenge you. If you’re not certain it’s a word, then you essentially have a 50/50 chance of having your turn penalized. With Words, meanwhile, you’re just slinging shit at a wall and seeing what sticks. Here’s another differentiating factor: The Words board is slightly different from a Scrabble board. I’m 80-percent certain that Zynga With Friends (formerly Newtoy) did this because it keeps them from having the Scrabble people sue the pants off of them for stealing their game. But it also creates interesting new loopholes that let you play the Words board to your strategic advantage. It’s been heretofore established that in Words your actual ability to compose words is less important than in actual Scrabble (and it’s completely negated if you’re one of those guileless souls who isn’t above visiting one of the many anagram generators on the ’net), so savvy tile placement often determines who goes home happy. Your general offensive tactic should be similar to that of the coach of a high-level soccer game: force everything to the outside as soon as possible. Then, you need to trick your opponent to play a word on the Double Word square located one row of squares insideGitHub - dredly/Scrabble-Trainer-2: Expanding my scrabble training

You’ll also find these at the dollar store. These are unfinished wood. They are sanded very smooth, and it’s not necessary to stain or paint them. You can stain them to match your decor, of course, but it’s also fine to keep them natural as I have.To simulate the letters and numbers seen on Scrabble tiles. we cut black permanent adhesive vinyl. To make a set of tiles as large as mine, you’ll want 48″ of vinyl, or four sheets of 12″ x 12″ vinyl sheets. You don’t have to use black, of course, but the Scrabble tile letters and numbers are black, so use black if you want to match those. To put your Scrabble Tiles altogether as wall art, you’ll want a package of balsa wood sheets — i used about seven of them — to keep the tiles together as a unit. As in Scrabble? (As it is, as soon as you move you can see your opponent's tiles.) The Pass 'n' Play mode is tacked on as an afterthought, a notable exception to the consistent quality of the rest. The game does have its quirks. But it's clear that the developers intended for it be a simple, speedy application that didn't waste time with superfluous features. The game is there, the player base is engaged and everything just works. (Well, the online mode, at least.) What a super, automatic scrabble calculator… better than I hoped it would be! this is awesome… wish I could load in a list of words tho yes. i would. this does not account for words longer then 7 letters that go over multiple tripple/double word score and or tripple/double letter score It dosnt account for an 8-letter word that hits 2 triple word scores Did what I asked without any fuss. well, it works… or at least I hope it works.. 😉 Nice 1 does what it says it will and is very simple. great work. Very clever! Helped us settle an argument we had over a beer. I lost. 😉 i knew there had to be something like this, and there it was! …first hit in google… It’s really great, but it’d be nice if you could give more than one double/triple letter score per word (since you can get that) Super handy, thanks! i use this for my homework sometimes or just for cheats against my brainy sister cool 🙂 Very nice. Does this also work for the Dutch version of the Scrabble game? This is an awesome calculator! Hahaha, this is too good! Scrabble board domination?Ya damn right! Very cool calculator. How about the adding the ability to zero out a letter’s point value, as if using a blank scrabble tile? This tool is what we where looking for long long time …Thanks ! Heheh I love this program!!
