Been difficult. It didn't help that I was struggling with it for a year and a half before finding out about the GUI versions. It was awesome, until I found that many of the later versions of mame UI or 32 really don't run well on my machine. Then it was trying to find an appropriate version that balanced speed and compatibility. It hasn't been super easy for me.
