No hace mucho Amazon lanzó Kindle Comic Creator, una aplicación que permite crear cómics para el lector de libros electrónicos Kindle. Una especia de iBooks Author aunque con matices. Kindle Comic Creator no es una aplicación para crear un cómic desde cero sino más bien para generar el cómic en formato MOBI (o KF8). De esa forma, si tenemos algún cómic en PDF, JPG, TIFF, PNG o PPM podremos convertirlo a un formato mejor adaptado para usar en cualquier lector Kindle, incluso en las apps Kindle para otros sistemas operativos. Con la ventaja de poder hacer uso de la función vista por viñeta o navegación guiada como también la denominan. Una característica que permite ir ampliando de forma automática cada una de las viñetas sin necesidad de ir haciendo zoom manualmente. Con Kindle Comic Creator añadiremos las diferentes páginas e iremos marcado cada viñeta. Comic creators looking to sell their self-published or indie comics in Amazon's Kindle store now have a way to make it happen with the new Kindle Comic Creator, a tool the e-commerce giant quietly rolled out last week. From the looks of it, the tool is just about as easy to use as advertised. Creators simply upload their comics in jpg, pdf, tiff, png or ppm format, and use the software's auto-detect features to enable guided, panel-by-panel navigation. Creators can import EPUB and KF8 files as well. The tool also supports double-page spreads, facing pages and right-to-left page turns common in manga.Of course, there is something of a downside. As GoodEReader points out, Amazon can alter the sale price of books sold in its Kindle store to match a competitor's price, either in print or digital formats. Able to work around this temporarily by using the Deliver or Remove from Device option for that comic on the Amazon Content & Devices page. That caused it to download to the Kindle and appear in the Kindle's library, but once I removed it from the Kindle it once again was no longer visible in the ALL library.Another thing I noticed is that this comic allows DRM-free downloads for archival from comiXology, but is delivered in DRM-protected azw3 format when downloaded using the Amazon Content & Devices page. This would explain the size difference.I didn’t know you could get comiXology purchases to show up in Amazon Library, I’ll have to try that, thanks!
