2025-04-20This topic explains how to integrate Helix Plan with Jira Server. Atlassian is deprecating Jira Server, which means that the Jira Server integration will reach end-of-life soon. If you use Jira Cloud or Data Center, see the Jira integration documentation. Helix Plan uses unlimited hierarchy depth for the Product Backlog and Project Schedule sections. Jira uses a flat structure. Because new items synced to Helix Plan from Jira do not have any hierarchy data, they are added to the root directory of the section they are synced to by default. You can specify a location where to insert new items in the hierarchy. 1. After the integration is configured for a Helix Plan section, such as Product Backlog, right-click an item and choose Jira integration item settings. The Jira item settings dialog box opens. 2. Select the Helix Plan report to use for finding new items synced from Jira. This indicates the location where to insert new items in the hierarchy. 3. Click OK. When a new item is synced from Jira to Helix Plan, the integration checks all items configured as insert locations. If the new item is found by one of the reports, the item is automatically inserted at the correct location in the hierarchy. Insert locations are only checked when an item is created in Helix Plan when syncing with Jira. You can move the item in the hierarchy after it is created.
