New 01 Nov 2021 #1 Chrome First Tab won't open. The Issue - The very first tab to open in Chrome is not completely loading (e.g. the little circular icon just continues going around and around). All of the following observations are directly impacted by this one fault:1. Changing the On start up settings options Open the new Tab Page; Continue where you left off; Open a specific Page all make no difference.2. No web page links in the Startup Menu will directly open the browser. Site info says Your connection to this site is not secure. However if the browser is already open and still attempting to load that same first tab, then these very same links will open in the browsers new tabs 2,3 etc respectively and site info is secure. 3. The show Home button settings set on a specific custom web address does work OK.4. Saved Bookmarks do Work OK 5. Typing anything in the Address bar while this same first tab is still trying to load, allows the respective site to open perfectly and only now do all other tasks behave normally e.g any of the links in the Start Menu open straight away etc.In short, once any Tab is open properly then everything behaves as normal. Conversely while that first tab is trying to open Nothing functions properly. I have also seen the following error pop up from time to time while turning my PC inside out searching for a solution - can't remember where and it's no longer apparent. (Awe Snap - Error Code - RESULT_CODE_HUNG).I believe I've tried just about every suggestion I could find on the NET with no luck - help please !!! New 02 Nov 2021 #6 Yep understand it can vary with indiviual machines as can be seen on the Net under Hardware Acceleration I too have a 2nd PC which does have it enabled. Good Luck. New 24 Jul 2022 #7 My workaround is just to set google.com as the first tab, to open on start up. Doesn't matter if you shut that tab or move others to the left, just has to open with google on the left. Possibly other sites work too, but I'm pretty confident google will always be optimised to open with Chrome. It appears the browser works far

Cabe Skurilesunread,Oct 27, 2016, 5:22:37 AM10/27/16to Google Chrome Developer ToolsHello,I'm trying to debug a feature to open a link in a new tab and I need debugging from the beginning. So I activated Auto-open DevTools for popups in the Dev-Tools Settings, restarted Chrome (and PC) opened a new Tab -> nothing. Opened a new Window-> nothing. unchecked/rechecked the option, restarted again -> same problem. No dev-tools open on open a new tab/window. I tried it with open dev console and closed -> nothing.I've added the flag "--auto-open-devtools-for-tabs" in chrome start options, this is working but this is not a comfortable solution (as the dev tools are opened every time I start chrome and not only when I start the dev-tools session on my own).Did I miss anything? Or is this feature just broken?Chrome is latest version 54.0.2840.71I also tried Chromium latest build and Canary -> same problem. How can i use this function? Thanks for helpRegards BenePhistucKunread,Oct 27, 2016, 5:25:34 AM10/27/16to Google Chrome Developer ToolsOpening a new tab manually (by using the new tab button or the context menu) is not a "popup". A "popup" is only a window/tab that is opened by window.open (or maybe target=_blank). Not arbitrary new tabs or windows. The flag is meant for the latter.
