2025-04-22DOSBox-X Cross-platform DOS emulation packageComplete, accurate emulation and more What is DOSBox-X?DOSBox-X is an open-source DOS emulator for running DOS applications and games.DOS-based Windows such as Windows 3.x and Windows 9x are officially supported.Compared to DOSBox, DOSBox-X is much more flexible and provides more features.Look at the DOSBox-X Wiki for more information about DOSBox-X and usage guides. We also hope that DOSBox-X (along with DOSLIB) can aid in new DOS development. DOSBox-X emulates a PC necessary for running many DOS games and applications that simply cannot be run on modern PCs and operating systems, similar to DOSBox. However, while the main focus of DOSBox is for running DOS games, DOSBox-X goes much further than this. Forked from the DOSBox project, it retains compatibility with the wide base of DOS games and DOS gaming DOSBox was designed for. But it is also a platform for running DOS applications, including emulating the environments to run Windows 3.x, 9x and Me and software written for those versions of Windows. By adding official support for Windows 95, 98, Me emulation and acceleration, we hope that those old Windows games and applications could be enjoyed or used once more. Moreover, DOSBox-X adds support for DOS/V and NEC PC-98 emulations so that you can play DOS/V and PC-98 games with it.Compared with DOSBox, DOSBox-X focuses more on general emulation and accuracy. In order to help running DOS games and applications, Windows 3.x/9x/Me, as well as for the purpose of historical preservation, testing and continued DOS developments, it

2025-04-03Before we get started with TASM installation on a Windows machine, let’s get some knowledge about TASM and learn what it will do for us.Turbo Assembler (TASM) a small 16-bit computer program which enables us to write 16 bit i.e. x86 programming code on 32-bit machine. It can be used with any high level language compliers like GCC compiler set to build object files. So that programmers can use their daily routine machines to write 16-bit code and execute on x86 devices. So let get started with installation steps. Before we get started to make sure that you have the following software. If not, you can download it by clicking on it.Requirements.1. DosBox software.2. TASM installation files.Steps1. First, install DOSBox software on your system.2. Just run the downloaded setup file to install as just like other software you install.3. Then extract the TASM zip file.4. After that copy that extracted the folder to C drive of your system.5. Now we have to mount our C drive to DosBox so that we can use our TASM libraries there.6. To do that go to the following path on your PCFor 32-bit PCC:\Program Files\DOSBOX-0.74For 64-bit PCC:\Program Files (x86) \DOSBOX-0.747. Then there you will see a file named “DOSBOX 0.74 Options” click on it to open.8. It will open a text file in notepad. Then navigate to the last line of that file where it shows “# You can put your MOUNT lines here”.9. Add the following lines after that.mount c c://tasmc://10. And save that file.11. And now open DOSBOX. You’re done.12. To run a TASM program copy your program file into the TASM folder which is under your C: drive.13. And now open DOSBOX. And navigate to the TASM folder by typing cd TASM and hit enter.14. Now type tasm . Replace with your
