Prusa slicer 2.5 slicing preview issue Prusa slicer 2.5 slicing preview issue Hi, I have a strange issue with prusa slicer 2.5. When 3 d model is added to the build plate everything is fine, but after slicing the model to print i can see that complete model is filled with infill in preview and estimate time for printing is 7h 30 min? Normally printing this part took about 4h.This exact model was printed previously day before with prusa slicer without any issues. I just cant find the reason for this problem. Can anyone help? Here is a link Log in to be able to post Posted : 13/03/2023 4:12 pm (@neophyl) Illustrious Member RE: Prusa slicer 2.5 slicing preview issue Please attach your zipped up project file. File>Save Project As. This will save a 3mf file. ZIP it up and attach it here. It must be zipped or the forum wont accept the file. It wont give any warning either, so best to check it actually attached immediately given how short the forums edit time is too.A 3mf from PS is a complete snapshot of ALL the settings. With it we can slice it exactly the same as you and we can see the preview etc and figure out what setting you have that is causing it hopefully. My guess though is that you have slicing set to fill holes. Print Settings>Advanced>Slicing>Slicing Mode. Should be on regular unless you need one of the special modes. SLA slicer feature, you will need to ensure the correct printer configuration is added. A very clear and easy to use UI with most of the features that you’d expect from a slicer. This has been developed using feedback from the Prusa community, which has led to a user-friendly UI. As we’ve seen from the few alternatives we’ve discussed, other programs do offer different options which may suit you better. A fair reason to change something of course may be that it has things wrong with it that you just don’t like. With ChiTubox, some users have highlighted the following problems:If the model is changed from the original design, errors or “artifacts” may occurOnce you’ve edited the supports, there’s no “undo” function. This means you’ll have to start overThe free version of ChiTubox has limited features There are of course other things that you as an individual might not like but that’s then down to personal choice. Final ThoughtsI think it’s fair to say that ChiTubox is an excellent slicer for SLA resin 3D printers. The features it offers are sufficient to carry out the function of slicing a model for printing and, lets face it, that may be all you need. However, if you’d prefer to change and are looking for an alternative, then hopefully we’ve looked at some prospective new options. The only gap for me with the new features is the lack of a female to female connector mode, ie. just 2 holes with the option to generate separate pins. This would make it easier to use magnets or print both parts with their cut sides flat on the build plate. Perhaps in an upcoming release. 👍 Log in to be able to post Posted : 31/01/2023 9:19 pm (@foxrun3d) Illustrious Member RE: Prusa Slicer 2.6 Alpha 2 is available on Github Yes, and my first two attempts of slicing an old file ended up in crashes ☹️And shift-click to draw a cut line but NO similar thing to draw straight seams or supports?!? Unexpected surprise. While they may not have hit the more long running bugbears there were more fixes than I thought there would be. Log in to be able to post Posted : 01/02/2023 2:43 pm RE: Prusa Slicer 2.6 Alpha 2 is available on Github Posted by: @neophyl For example I noticed MrB mentioned he couldn't do a hole in both parts of the cut so wanted to see what the issue was, but that seems to be down to the choice between Plug and Dowel. Plug does a post and hole and Dowel creates a hole in both parts and an extra printable connector piece. Yes, thanks. I just came back to mention this after further experimentation. It is stable for me as well. Most of the others. The difference being that the UI also has more advanced settings to do with the control of your printer, as well as the slicer settings. This can lead to some new users being “overwhelmed” by what they’re looking at and, as such, putting them off using it. FormWare 3DFormWare was initially started as a company in 2014 after firstly making online, personalised jewellery. They then looked into how they could improve their production process through 3D printing; This was why FormWare 3D was developed in 2015. The software itself is fairly similar to others in terms of features but is dedicated solely to resin printers. This is good in terms of attention to detail, but there are a limited number of printers that the slicer supports. You’ll need to purchase either a personal or commercial license, but you can take on a 30-day trial before you buy. Primary FeaturesThe primary features highlighted by the developer are mainly focussed on the support and infill functions. There are the obligatory automatic and custom supports as well as the ability to hollow or indeed add latticed infill.
