TrueType font on a Macintosh contains a 'FOND' resource and an 'sfnt' resource. The information in the 'FOND' resource is additional information necessary for the Mac OS. The 'sfnt' is the TrueType font. TrueType data files are used by Visual TrueType and are generated by either creating a PC font in Fontographer or by converting the 'sfnt' resource into a data file. Additionally, the Mac OS uses information on files called 'Finder Information' to identify file types. Fontographer outputs PC TrueType fonts with different 'Finder Information' necessary for Visual TrueType.The 'Finder Information' should be:Type = sfntCreator = 'mdos', 'bass' or 'Bass' are common but not required.A creator code is required and must be 4 characters.You can change the 'Finder Information' with several applications including ResEdit.
